About
Zach May is a dedicated private lesson teacher. Zach’s teaching is informed by his Suzuki teacher training, Paul Rolland string pedagogy endorsement, and NYSSMA Adjudicator training. Drawing on a variety of resources, Zach will tailor lessons to students’ individual goals, keeping expressive musicianship and a strong technical foundation for the instrument at the forefront of instruction. Zach received his cello training at the University of Illinois with Dmitry Kouzov, Ani Aznavoorian, and Wendy Warner, as well as chamber music study with the Pacifica Quartet.
Studio
After years of traveling to students’ homes to give private cello lessons, Zach is thrilled to be opening a home studio in Yorktown Heights, just minutes from the Taconic Parkway and Yorktown High School. Saturday morning lessons are available for 30, 45, and 60 minutes. Students of all ages are accepted!
Tuition
Private lessons:
Semester tuition (15 lessons): 60 minutes: $1365 | 45 minutes: $1185 | 30 minutes: $795
Semi-private lesson (2 students share a full 1-hour block): $795 per student
Breakdown - 60 Minutes: $88 | 45 Minutes: $76 | 30 Minutes: $50 plus $45 materials fee which includes the semester's sheet music and instructional materials purchases for the student.
