About
Zach May is a dedicated private lesson teacher. Zach’s teaching is informed by his Suzuki teacher training, Paul Rolland string pedagogy endorsement, NYSSMA Adjudicator training, and 14 years of public school string teaching. Drawing on a variety of resources, Zach tailors lessons to students’ individual goals, keeping expressive musicianship and a strong technical foundation at the forefront of instruction. Zach received his cello training at the University of Illinois with Dmitry Kouzov, Ani Aznavoorian, and Wendy Warner, as well as chamber music study with the Pacifica Quartet. Studio
After years of traveling to students’ homes to give private cello lessons, Zach is thrilled to be opening a home studio in Yorktown Heights, just minutes from the Taconic Parkway and Yorktown High School. Saturday morning lessons are available for 30, 45, and 60 minutes. Students of all ages and levels are accepted!
